Merge MP3 with tags, cover art and a CUE sheet

What you can set

Title, artist, album, year, genre and a comment. The values apply to the merged file. Blank fields stay blank, so private tags from the first source clip are not copied by accident.

Cover art

Covers work for MP3, M4A and FLAC output. They are not offered for WAV, OGG or Opus. Use a square JPEG or PNG you are allowed to share; 1000 to 2000 pixels wide is plenty. If the image is missing when the merge starts, the job stops instead of writing a file without it.

CUE chapter sheet

Turn on Create a CUE chapter sheet. The app writes a small text file next to the audio with one marker per clip. Marker times account for trims, gaps and crossfades, so chapter 2 starts where it really starts in the merged file, not at the original length of chapter 1.

Not every phone or car stereo reads CUE files. Keep the sheet with the audio anyway; it is a reliable index of what went where.

Does Smart mode keep the tags?

Yes. Even when Smart mode copies the audio without re-encoding, tags and a supported cover are still written to the output file. “No re-encoding” is about the audio stream; the file bytes around it can change.

Check before you share

1. Play the whole file and listen at each join.
2. Open the file properties and read the tags.
3. Look at the cover in two players. Some keep an old thumbnail until the library refreshes.
4. Open the .cue file in Notepad and check that times go up in order.

Common questions

A different cover for every track? No. One merged file has one cover. Keep separate files if each track needs its own artwork.

Reuse the setup for the next episode? Save a project, copy it, and change the sources, title and cover before exporting.
